I have always dreamed of a career in which I could change lives and ultimately instill happiness in the lives of others, and I have certainly found this in orthodontics. I love watching my patients grow and develop into successful and confident individuals. Building strong relationships with my patients and their families is really enjoyable to me. I constantly strive to involve my patients with their own orthodontic treatment and continuously educate them on what is occurring at all times. I feel as though the patient, the family and I work as a team to end with beautiful, healthy results. I continuously seek perfection and comfort when treating my patients, and certainly do anything and everything I can to make every individual's orthodontic experience as fun, unique, and pleasant as possible!
Education and Continuing Education
I am native to Western Pennsylvania and proud to have graduated from Butler Area High School. I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree from Penn State University and later my Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. I continued my education at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine and received both my Certificate in Orthodontics and Master of Dental Science degree.
I am actively involved in many professional organizations including the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontics, Pennsylvania Dental Association, Pitt Dental Alumni Board, and Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society. I continuously keep myself up to date with the most current techniques in treatment as well as with new technology. I take many continuing education courses throughout the year and strive to offer my patients the best, most comfortable and efficient treatment possible.
My background in practicing orthodontics has created a vast amount of knowledge, as I have learned many techniques and methods of treatment from several orthodontists I have associated with since graduating in 2015, both in private practice and corporate practice. The mentorship I have received is incredible. I also served as clinical faculty at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine department of Orthodontics, where I taught resident orthodontists in 2016-2017.
Outside of the Office
Having grown up in Connoquenessing Township, I am really excited to be practicing in and around my hometown! I am truly blessed with the support I have received from the community, my family, and friends over the years, which is why I feel it is so important to be a part of and give back to the community. I absolutely love going to preschools, elementary schools and high schools to teach dental education in both hygiene and orthodontics, but also to speak to children about careers in science and dentistry. I welcome with open arms the opportunity for kids to shadow in my office and enjoy teaching as a whole. As a mother of two, I understand the challenges women face as professionals and working moms, which is why it is very important to me to encourage young women to follow their dreams.
My life outside of the office is dedicated to my husband Matt, my 3 year old daughter Arabella Mae, and my 1 yr old son Jack. We currently reside in Connoquenessing Township where I grew up and are so thankful to be close to both of our extended families. We enjoy spending time with our families and friends, activities in Pittsburgh, and going to our local family cabins. Our family activities include anything in the outdoors, gardening, biking, and supporting Pittsburgh, college, and local sports teams. In my free time, I enjoy running, cooking, spending time with my friends, and coaching gymnastics for toddlers.
